Should I contact immigration authorities?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is advisable for foreign <span class=\"textos-negrita\">self-employers<\/span> to contact the immigration authorities of the city they seek to work in, so as to be certain of which documents they need to get mandatorily <span class=\"textos-negrita\">translated<\/span>. Usually, documents <span class=\"textos-negrita\">from your home country<\/span> that are <span class=\"textos-negrita\">not in Spanish<\/span> are required to get a sworn translation. When a sworn translation is sealed, it acquires official status, and you will be able to use it as if it was a Spanish document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nevertheless, if you do not have proficient command of the language, it is <span class=\"textos-negrita\">strongly recommended<\/span> that you get all <span class=\"textos-negrita\">the necessary <a class=\"color_enlaces\" href=\"https:\/\/www.exteriores.gob.es\/Consulados\/washington\/en\/ServiciosConsulares\/Paginas\/Consular\/Visado-de-trabajo-por-cuenta-propia.aspx\">documents<\/a><\/span> translated in order to avoid possible future misunderstandings or legal issues. For example, <span class=\"textos-negrita\">Spanish forms<\/span> that you need to fill in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"textos-negrita\">Documents from your home country<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Valid passport: you will need a valid passport or travel document, as well as a photocopy of every page of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"textos-negrita\">Certificate of criminal records<\/span>: contact your l<span class=\"textos-negrita\">ocal police or criminal investigation authorities<\/span> to get an official <span class=\"textos-negrita\">certificate<\/span> of records. Be careful, these certificates are valid for a limited time (usually <span class=\"textos-negrita\">three months<\/span>), so check twice and get a certificate that you are sure is going to be valid during the whole application procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">v<span class=\"textos-negrita\">Medical certificate<\/span>: You will need to contact your <span class=\"textos-negrita\">GP<\/span> or health centre administration to get a certificate of health records. You may be required to get a <span class=\"textos-negrita\">check-up<\/span> for the purpose of the certificate. <span class=\"textos-negrita\">Medical translation<\/span> is a specific branch of translation, which we also offer in iTrad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"textos-negrita\">A detailed project<\/span> of the activity that you will carry out in Spain as a freelancer and the required <span class=\"textos-negrita\">authorisations<\/span> or <span class=\"textos-negrita\">licences<\/span> and professional <span class=\"textos-negrita\">certificates<\/span>. It is legally required to get a sworn translation for these documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"textos-negrita\">Financial means<\/span>: get a copy of the document that verifies that you have v<span class=\"textos-negrita\">sufficient economic means<\/span> to carry out your desired professional activity in Spain, as well as a translation of both the documents and their <span class=\"textos-negrita\">legalisation<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"textos-negrita\">Translation of documents to become a freelancer in Spain.
